(RECIPE) CRISPY LEMON CHICKEN

Wednesday, April 09, 2014

The weather is pretty cold outside while I’m writing this. Bad news is, it ruined my plan to go out to the beach. But, not that bad though, because the good news is I can do something with this chill weather, I kinda love this weather sometimes. I sit at the balcony and thinking about what should I do, then suddenly I’m thinking about crispy lemon chicken and beer. Both are the things that I won't miss. Crispy lemon chicken and beer in the cold weather? Hell yeah, it's gonna be perfect for my dinner! I can imagine the glaze of chicken skin covered by lemon, and drink one sip of beer, then life is good! So, our cooking project for this time is really simple, I believe that you and everyone CAN do this, even for the beginner like me :D

INGREDIENTS:

1. 600gr fillet chicken, cut it thin at least 1cm
2. 3/4 Teaspoon salt
3. 1/2 Teaspoon pepper
4. 5 Tablespoon Cornstarch / Tempura flour
5. 2 pcs eggs white
6. Oil / Maizenna to fry

SAUCE:

1. 250ml Chicken broth
2. 3 Tablespoon lemon water
3. 1 teaspoon grated ginger
4. 2 pcs cloves onion, slice thinly first
5. 2 tablespoon sugar
6. 1 tablespoon Cornstarch / Tempura flour, add 2 tablespoon of water

HOW TO COOK CRISPY LEMON CHICKEN:

1. Put the chicken with salt and pepper. Slowly mix it with the cornstarch / tempura flour. Dip the chicken in the mix of egg white and flour, make sure that each side of the chicken is covered well. You don’t want to miss the best part of it, right?

2. Heat the oil in a wok or frying pan, fry the chicken until well done. Put it aside to the plate. When we ready with the chicken, it's time to make the sauce.

3. Sauce:  heat the chicken broth with lemon water, ginger and onion, cook until it’s boiling. Add some sugar and the cornstarch, mix all together. Stir until you see the broth is getting thick.

4. Pour the chicken into the lemon sauce, dip all the chicken meat. Pull them out and your Crispy Lemon Chicken are ready to served with steamed rice or adjust it with anything you like.
