JAPAN TRAVEL GUIDE; A LUCKY COIN IN NISHIKI SHRINE

Saturday, July 05, 2014

Throw your coin and dream come true! Some people believe when they throw a coin in Rome, Italy, someday they'll be back to Rome, Italy, but in Japan absolutely different, mostly they pray for happiness, stay healthy, away from bad luck and you can pray for your love to.. HA! That's what I did with some friends, when we found Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine, this temple is inside the Nishiki Market and the famous Teramachi shopping center in downtown Kyoto City. A perfect shrine in the city and easy to find.

We tried to go inside, look around and found something different from any temple that we've visited before. Yess, I tossed my lucky coin to the box prayer, ring a giant bell, bow to salute and pray for my wishes here. Besides that, I love the ambiance in the morning, they're so quite & peaceful and I can sit for 10 minutes to clear my mind from the negative thoughts. What a perfect time to start the day, but when the day turn to night, some people said the temple is such a beautiful in the night.

So what else? If you already explore this shrine, eat lots of street food at the market, check your shopping list, then you can go to the GION district, which is not far from here. Try this street food at Gion Shrine. Happy Explore and GoodLuck, here's the ambiance of Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine.
